Little Monkey

So, this week we have moved on to baby food number 2... bananas. And as luck would have it Maggie can not get enough of them, and I can not stand the smell of them! YuCK! Sunday she started on just bananas, and today we mixed in a little bit of rice cereal- she ate 5 tablespoons !
Next week, I think we'll move on to a vegetable!

I'm in this "February Funk"- seems to happen about this time every year. I'm sick of being cooped up in the house, and I'm sick of the same old with work... so time to make a change I guess. This winter has been specifically hard- its not like I can do much with Maggie when its in the negative degrees outside! But, I am applying for a new job in Albany- just a part time addition for now. I am super excited for it- a whole new option to my career , and expanding on my education. I suppose I have always been this way- I can't sit in the same spot for too long- I become bored with myself- time for more! I'll let you know how it goes!

On a good note- it is February- so warm weather will be in sight. I just ordered a jogging stroller, and Maggie and I will be outside daily as soon as the snow stops flying!

Growing Like a Weed

Well, we had Maggie's our month doctors appointment on Thursday. (It is so hard to believe that she already 1/3 of a year old- where does the time go?) Everything went wonderful, shes met all of her development expectations thus far! WOOHOO! The amount she has grown is mind blowing!
  • Birth Weight: 8 lbs 10.2 oz
  • Current Weight :16 lbs 3 oz
  • Birth Length 19 inches
  • Current Length 25 1/4 inch

Shes grown over 6 inches already? How can that possibly be?

Anyway- she is now rolling tummy to back, and adds in the occasional back to tummy roll. She Goos and Gahs on her own, and in response to other people. She has a full-on giggle now, no more silent laugh with a mouth wide open. She reaches out for toys, and her pacifier. Most of all she is amazed with her feet. She tries so hard to get her toes to her mouth- but her big belly gets in the way!

Daniel is doing great as well. Kindergarten is half way through (seriously- wheres the time go ?). He is a great, attentive, affectionate big brother. He's going to be her bodyguard for sure!

Welcome

So, for the most part I am new to this. I have a few blogs and updates on my myspace and cafemom pages that I will repost on here. Other than that- I am a blogging virgin. There are quite a few blogs that I have read for a while, and even if they have nothing important to say, its a nice way to check in on people.
My brother Ryan is a U.S. Marine, and Brendan leaves for the U.S. Navy in August 2009. So, I figured this would be a nice way to keep them update on their favorite sister :) , and niece and nephew...where ever they may be.
To those who come across my page, please add me , and introduce yourself so I can have a few blogging friends. Thanks!
